What happens if it rains?
The event is rain or shine. The Peacock Pavilion is a covered space.
What time should I get to the Dystonia Zoo Walk?
Plan on arriving at 8:00 AM. The event will begin promptly at 9:30 AM and you don’t want to miss it.
Is there a formal walking course?
No. Dystonia Zoo Walks do not have a formal walking course - in fact, you don’t have to walk at all. You can enjoy the festivities and then walk the zoo at your own leisure.
Can I show up the day of the Dystonia Zoo Walk without registering prior to?
Yes. Although we prefer pre-registration, we can get you registered the day-of. Please keep in mind t-shirts are not guaranteed if you register on-site. Pre-registration is always recommended.
Do I have to print the ticket I receive and bring it with me to the Dystonia Zoo Walk?
No, we will have your registration on file. You do NOT need to print out anything.
How do I register my team?
Click "Register Today" and follow the steps to registering yourself first, then right before the billing information under (Optional) Select your team - select "New Team".
Is there a limit to how many people can be on my team?
There is no limit, the more the merrier. Teams of 10 or more will receive a custom team t-shirt.
When do I have to register so that my team can receive customized t-shirts?
Make sure everyone on your team is registered by the deadline - by the end of the day on Monday, July 13.
Who can register to participate in the Dystonia Zoo Walk?
Everyone can participate. Invite your families, friends and colleagues to join you and support everyone with Dystonia.
When do I receive my t-shirt?
All t-shirts will be available for pick-up the morning of the Dystonia Zoo Walk. T-shirts will be available at the pavilion - t-shirts will not be shipped.
Can I bring my pets to the Dystonia Zoo Walk?
Service animals as defined by the ADA guidelines are allowed in the Zoo. Guests should alert a Guest Relations staff member at the Zoo’s Main Entrance upon arrival. While your service dog has been socialized for most public settings, touring a zoo—especially for the first time—can be an unusual experience. To ensure the safety of our animals and to provide an enjoyable visit for both you and your service animal, please read the website.
What if there isn't a Dystonia Zoo Walk close to me?
We are working hard to add Dystonia Zoo Walks all across the country. In the meantime, you can support a Dystonia Zoo Walk by making a donation. Click here to make an online donation.

Is my donation to the Dystonia Zoo Walk tax-deductible?
Yes, Dystonia Medical Research Foundation is registered as a not-for-profit, 501(c) (3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code, therefore all donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law. The DMRF’s Tax ID Number is 95-3378526.
